Jordan Keightley to travel to Malaysia with Team Velofit
Star Physio’s expert massage therapist Jordan Keightley will work with the Velofit Australia Cycling Team at the Tour de femina Malaysia in September. Jordan will provide injury management and advice, as well as sports massage for pain relief and recovery between the gruelling stages in the Malaysian heat!
New partnership between Star Physio and Velofit Australia
Jordan’s background as a cyclist and experience as a massage therapist, with the backup of Perth’s leading cycling physiotherapy and bikefit clinic in Star Physio makes the partnership between Velofit Australia and Star Physio a perfect fit. Velofit is a Perth based cycling team headed up by former professional cyclist Matt Upton and well known Perth cyclist and coach Mel Robinson. They have an elite mens’ and womens’ team as well as a stable of aspiring cyclists of all levels under their expert guidance.
Bikefit
The new partnership with Star Physio will bring a new level of support to Velofit and its athletes with professional bikefit using the Gebiomized bikefit system – the same system used by Tour De France winners Team Ineos and quadruple stage winners Mitchelton Scott! If you don’t know about this system, check out https://starphysiowa.com.au/bikefit/ . Apart from providing unparalleled accuracy in position for efficiency and performance, it is also the only system in Australia to analyse saddle pressure and stability for comfort and injury prevention.
Injury prevention and management.
In addition, Star Physio’s experts will work with the Velofit Teams on injury prevention using screening tools, as well as by working with coaches to integrate strength and conditioning programs into training. Evidence shows the huge benefits in power, efficiency and injury resilience when proper strength work is added to a cyclist’s training.
Finally, Star Physio’s team of experts https://starphysiowa.com.au/about/our-team/ are world leaders in evidence based injury management and will assist the coaches and teams with any injuries and niggles to get pain under control as quickly as possible minimize time off the bike.
