Star Physio’s top tips to keep things under control!

  1. Let your hair down! Don’t worry too much about what you do in the week between Christmas and New Year, worry about the other 51 weeks of the year!

  2. Try and keep up a bit of strength work! Keeping strong has one of the most powerful injury prevention benefits of anything you can do. Check out this great article that Star Physio Steve Jeffries wrote on what you need to do to maintain strength – you will be surprised how little you can get away with!!!

  3. Mix it up, don’t worry about heart rate, RPE, time and distance, but get just a bit of exercise 5 out of 7 days in a week. Enjoy a walk on the beach, a splash in the ocean, a jog around the park or a ride to the coffee shop. Just move, and your body will reward you.

  4. Now, we are not dieticians, but everyone knows that a little indulgence is fine, but not so fine if you do too much for too long. Check out our mate Dave Bryant from Catalyst Dietician’s Facebook Page here for some great tips.

  5. …and finally, beware of boxing day injuries! You are not Mitchell Stark, so don’t try to bowl at 100mph in backyard cricket, and you are probably not Tony Hawk either, so be careful with the new skateboard demos!

  6. If you are unlucky enough to pick up a festive niggle or injury, or have a current one that you should deal with, get it checked with one of our experts by calling 64249578 or book online here! We are open across the Festive season except for public holidays.
